Wireless electricity is here
David Colker of LA Times is reporting on a Massachusetts company’s
plan to market wireless electricity ‘WiTricity in 18 months to power
lights, televisions, computers. It will even power your electric car.
I for one don’t want to be around if there is a short circuit.

Mobile NEWS delivery > TimesSkimmer for NYTimes – WSJ Mobile Reader for Wall Street Journal
The print media as a whole and newspapers in particular are finding revenues depleting in this tough economy. A cyclic downturn in the print industry coupled by being at the cusp of a new era in the way we consume news, is not helping sales either. Finding a new way to generate revinue has become an existential threat.
As they say necessity is the mother of all inventions, NYTimes and Blackberry have partnered on the TimesSkimmer that delivers NYT news to you in seven ways. I think the WSJ Mobile Reader, which is now subscription based, was the first rally usable news reader (not counting icon – shortcuts) and still remains a leader.
I don’t have a iPhone nor do I see myself or my company making the switch till MS Outlook/Exchange enterprise email is supported. It looks like the two readers are for Blackberry only.
Humm… Is there an App for that?

Union Carbide is still around. If this had happened in the US, the
lawsuits would have put them out of business

Who killed the electric car?
Just finished watching “who killed the electric car?”. Feel bad that
our tax dollars are again bailing out GM when bad management and
misaligned priorities basically killed a game changing product they
had in EV1. Seems there are no consequences for bad decisions anymore
- more so if you have mass (to big to fail) behind you. Its
depressing to realize the amount of power and influence big oil has on
our lives.
Jaisal’s first Haloween
Took Jaisal around the block for trik-or-treating. His first Haloween. Next year – he'll have to walk on his own. The joy
Starwood Hotels moving corporate headquarters to Stamford CT
Looks like the vacant lot on the 'sea' side of the train station will be where Starwood will move its HQ. The move is scheduled for 2012. There is nothing there – guess they'll start work soon. Maybe this move was the reason to further beautify the Mill river by removing the damn next door.
All in all – it cam only mean good things for Stamford.
The silly seasson is in full swing in Formula1
F1 champ Jensen looking for a job?
Jensen is reportedly touring Maclaren. Maclaren is talking to Nick
as well for the one free seat alongside Hamilton.
Jensen’s retail mode for a racing seat means that his driving skills
were assessed to be less a part in him winning this years F1
championship than the ability of the superb car that Brawn put
together. I doubt that we’ll see a repeat for him or Hamilton next
year.
My bet is on Alanso.
With Barecello committed to Williams, both seats at Brawn seem to be
free. Kubica is with Renault which may or may not race next year.
BMW, Toyota and Bridgestone are out. Daimler to buy Brawn GP – wonder
what will happen to Maclaren’s R and D budget?
Can’t wait for March 2010.
